Throughout all of the ages - just needs to be age appropriate. Don't wait to plan 1 certain day / age / conversation. It's part of life in TV, movies, songs, and the kids should hear about it from you and the dangers of it all each chance.

Its said but some kids are having sex and even babies at 12 and younger.. I have a 10 year old and weve already had the talk..

i couldn't agree with you more if we as parents living in the 2000s not the 30s ne more dont talk to our children about these and other very important issues they will only learn prob. the wrong lessons from school/friends/peers/and not having the real knowledge of cause and effect could ruin a childs life for a lot longer of a time then th 1 hr spent talking the trick is to not sound like your demanding/or parenting but try to be more like a friend and a parent when needed i found it worked well with my daughtere she tells me everything sometimes things i rather not hear but gota take the good with the bad i guess

It is very importain to talk to your children about drugs and alchol and to tell them they can come to you and tell you anything and to teach them about peer pressure is also very importain also
